December 7, 2013 Hopi Christmas Delivery Trip
We were asked to join a group from Valley View Baptist Church located in Snowflake AZ to make a delivery to Hopi Indians located on Seconda Mesa, AZ. To view flyer for trip, click here
The group from Valley View Baptist Church included Bob & Linda Seymour and their grandchildren AJ and Melody Roper, Don & Imogene McInelly, Terry & Debi Nelson and their daughters, Sariah, Maria, Angelina, and Lori.
The couple from Operation 29:11 was Randy & Pam Williams from Garden Grove, CA.
The items included in delivery was adult food, baby food, baby cloths, and handmade items which included hats, scarves, ponchos, gloves, blankets, quilts just to name a few.
The team also brought food to make a meal for the people coming to pick up items. It was a great time getting to know the people and sharing God's love with them and meeting some basic needs.
This trip was not without its challenges. Some of the people from Operation 29:11 wanting to come were not able to attend for health reasons. We were to meet in the community center but got a call the night before telling us we no longer had the center. Bob Seymour talked with his contact on the reservation and we ended up meeting in her home, which turned out great. Our finally challenge was the snow storm that hit Flagstaff which we had to alter our plans and head back to outrun the storm which we made it safely.
